Serum Haptoglobin Levels in Cardiovascular Diseases

Abstract
Serum haptoglobin is a fraction in the serum proteins named by Polonowski and Jayle in 1939, which is characterized by its combining property with free hemoglobin, and it normally pccupies about 25 per cent of ¥á©üglobulin.
In this study I have determined serun haptoglobin levels in 24 cases o cingestive heart failure, and 10 case of cerebral cascular accident. The results revealed lower levels of serum haptpglobin than normal in congestive heart failure, and n the contrary, higher levers in cerebral vascular accident cases.
